When you are on the go and need a quick pick me up, Quest Bars are a great grab and run snack. They are high in fiber, protein and taste delicious. On average, at $2.50 a bar, they can end up being an expensive fast track snack.
So what's the solution?
Make homemade bit size bars at 1/3 of the costs and no added preservatives. There are three main ingredients in the base of the bar they are.
Base recipe for 1 bar:
2 Tbsp VitaFiber
2 tsp almond meal (ground almonds)
1 scoop whey protein powder
Per bar (varies with protein powder):
For a firm bar:
1. Heat the 2 Tbsp of VitaFiber Syrup in a saucepan over medium heat. When it’s just starts to bubble, remove from heat and immediately add protein powder, almond meal.
2. Place mixture in a plastic bag and knead until it starts to cool down. It will form into a bar.
For a softer bar:
1. For the fast and easy way…..
In a small bowl, combine the VitaFiber syrup, whey protein and almond meal. Mixture will be slightly sticky to the touch.
2. From here, it can be stored in a plastic bag, or you could also bake it in a 350 degree F oven for 5 minutes, or microwave for 15-20 seconds, as you would to a regular Quest bar. Then add ingredients of your liking. Below are some examples.
Ingredients list and measurements are for making 1 bar:
Chocolate chip: vanilla protein powder, add shaved or 2 squares chopped unsweetened coco bar
Chocolate peanut butter: chocolate or peanut protein powder, 2 tsp natural peanut or almond butter or 2 tsp peanuts.

You can also split the base batch into three and make a variety of flavors to have for the week.
